Earlier this year, Angie and I travelled to her home in the Czech Republic, and I had the wonderful pleasure of meeting her mother (finally! after 2 years…) and seeing all the places she had told me about – where she grew up, where she slept as a small girl, and where she watched the velvet revolution sitting atop her grandfather’s shoulders. I had such an amazing time of fellowship with her family, and I was still able to find time for my own adventure and personal journey.
Some of the highlights were late night coffee & dessert at Cafe Louvre, having our portraits drawn by an 80 year old Bohemian friend of Angie’s grandma, meeting and spending time with Angie’s beautiful, joyful mum, assisting and shooting alongside Yervant (Melbourne wedding photographer) on a bridal fashion shoot, taking photos in rain, hail and shine, and…
Our two year anniversary on the 1st of May – national day of love in Czech Republic. The most amazing night of my life was spent overlooking the red rooftops of old Prague, at an awesomely expensive french hotel restaurant, and I was truly humbled by this experience.
I have so many beautiful memories from this trip – and I’m eager to return to see the sunrise on Charles Bridge!
My advice for any fellow travellers is that the best way to see a city as historically and culturally diverse as Prague is to pack a good pair of comfy shoes and walk and walk and walk – and then walk some more!
Here’s a few of my favourite images from Prague – 3 and 1/2 weeks wasn’t long enough to walk around the whole city

The last image above is one of my favourites – I dont know why, but I really dig the background and how the face of the subject is hidden behind the scarf. It’s awesome, and I’ve already enlarged ready to hang above the desk for inspiration.
We also spent a few short hours (two 1/2 days, and two sleeps) in Vienna, Austria – but thats another post for another time.
Thanks for checking by. Ahoj!
